It’s that special time of year again. No, I’m not talking about Thanksgiving or Christmas; it’s the Nutcracker Market in Houston!
As you may recall, International Stoneworks purchases the delicious marinara sauce made by the Italian women’s group, the Donne Di Domani (DDD). As a company, we gift these marinara sauce jars to our terrific and loyal customers. All of the proceeds from the DDD marinara sauce sales go to local charities and educational institutions.
International Stoneworks is truly delighted to support such a wonderful and philanthropic group of ladies.
Since 1990, the Donne Di Domani have donated approximately $1,800,000 to charity and they have high hopes that this number will reach 2 million by the end of the Nutcracker Market this year.
Last year we reported that the DDD once again donated to Patriot Paws and provided one very special service dog named Hoffy. Hoffy was named after the Houston Chronicle reporter, Ken Hoffman, who always lends his voice to the DDD cause. This wonderful dog was trained by incarcerated women to provide care and companionship to disabled veterans.
Only problem is Hoffy never graduated the Patriot Paws program. Here is the update on Hoffy:
Hoffy, while energetic and adorable, was just a little too spirited for the program. Unfortunately, he just wasn’t cut out to be a service dog; however, Hoffy was made to be the most loveable and loyal pet to a local Houston family. Thanks to Ken Hoffman, Hoffy found a home and is very loved.
Perhaps the DDD’s new Patriot Paws recruit will make the cut next year. If you want to help support this cause, then stop by the DDD booth at the Nutcracker Market and purchase a jar of their delicious marinara sauce.
By the way, if you happen to spill some sauce on your beautiful marble countertops, don’t forget to give International Stoneworks a call! We would be more than happy to re-polish your marble and remove the marinara sauce etch marks.
